Black pride = white tears? Why?

Black pride = white tears? Why?

Disclaimer: This is not a divisive post. This is meant to touch and agree with those who have the problem and to let you know…WE SEE YOU!

Black history month, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s), black pride, Black Girls Rock, Black Entertainment Television (BET), “black” feminine hygiene products, The Black Panthers, American Black Film Festival…black, black, blackity, black black! Seriously, we can’t have SHIT! I love the comments saying that if there were a white television network, historically white universities, products aimed towards white people, or any damn thing that shows white pride; then there would be outrage and it would be called racist. And you’re damn right! But…there already is and you know this. You already have all of those things that are aimed strictly towards you. Y’all selfish MF’ers own every damn thing! Everything is white! Just because it isn’t labeled as such doesn’t mean it isn’t what it is. We have to take ownership of things that are not only created by us and possibly aimed more toward us because we never have and obviously never will receive the recognition we deserve. Because of this, we have constantly had to make our own lane since day one. We have pride and will show that pride not only for ourselves but towards each other because no other race will. This has been proven over and over again. Case in point…most recently when the black founder and creator Bea Dixon of Honey Pot Feminine Care says in a Target commercial, “The reason why it’s so important for Honey Pot to do well, is so the next black girl that comes up with a great idea, she could have a better opportunity. That means a lot to me.” She and her product were called racist. Now…how in THEE HELL is that racist? How? Why? Because she wants to be an inspiration for young girls who look like her. She doesn’t specify ANYWHERE in the commercial that the product is only for black people, but that’s how the narrative was turned. If I had any sense and wasn’t a racist ignorant POS…I personally would get that she’s saying she wants to be a success so that girls who look like her (black girls), who historically and systemically don’t get the opportunities can aspire to be a boss as well. But what do I know?

By the way, you do have white pride but guess what…it’s been labeled as “white power.” You can thank your f’d up history as well as your insecure white supremacist brothers and sisters for that and not us. I have mentioned in one of my podcasts that a friend, (who’s a white man) and I were having an adult conversation…because that’s what adults do. He mentioned during this conversation how he admires black people not only for their strength, among other things…but also for the pride that we have and aren’t scared to show it. I told him that he should have pride in himself and who he is. There’s nothing wrong with white pride, but there’s a problem with white power. They shouldn’t even be mentioned together but white pride has become intertwined with white power to become something evil by white supremacists. I told him to let his children know they should be proud of themselves. Be honest with them so they won’t be ashamed to have pride. Just let them know the difference and why it may be frowned upon. Children are very intuitive about what’s right and wrong. that’s why we all need to be honest with them at a young age. He then went onto mention how a lot of white people are truly envious of the pride that black people not only have, but can openly show. And we know how jealousy and envy can become something very ugly. This explained a lot to me.

Now let’s go here…The victim game is getting REALLY OLD! Quit blaming black people for your own insecurities. You couldn’t walk 10 feet in our shoes, sweetie! You couldn’t deal with what we have to for a minute. We get it from EVERYONE including our own. And besides, it never works out for you. Your failed attempts at pulling the sympathy and victim card continue to backfire repeatedly. Just like Bea Dixon who was mentioned earlier had her sales more than doubled after the failed attempt of a boycott. Face it…it won’t work. When you do this bullshit, it exposes everything that we have been saying forever and still continue to say until this day. “Racism still exists!” “Racism is still alive and well!” This is case and point blatant racism because white people are trying to use their power and privilege to flip the narrative and destroy a black person. Which is what has been happening forever. That’s what racism is!

And finally, you all want black folks to be racist SO bad. We can’t post articles featuring black people, watch movies, television shows or listen to music featuring predominantly black people. We can’t support black businesses or each other for that matter. We can’t talk about our love for being black…nothing. If we do any of this or more…we’re labeled as racist. Trust me…this has happened to me. (Hello former classmate who will remain nameless 😉). How dare I show any kind of love towards the success of black people. How dare I show any pride for being black. How dare I take an interest in black history more than the white American history that has been shoved down my throat since elementary school. I have so many questions as to why any of this would be considered racist. Just another failed attempt at trying to keep black people down. Y’all got a new breed out here sweetie…and we aren’t taking any of the ish!!! ANY OF IT!!!
