I bought my first pair of jeans in 7 years!

Actually, I bought two pairs of jeans. And if you could care less or wonder what the big deal is…🖕🏽! I could have worn jeans before surgery but you know I am going to keep it real with y’all. There were many reasons why I hadn’t worn jeans in years. One…because of my small waist size and bony legs the pants would be way were way too big and baggy to fit over my stomach. Also with having a smaller waist made my pants constantly fall down, regardless if I was wearing a belt or not. And bottom line…the shit was just uncomfortable. The button laying against my stomach and everything, I couldn’t take it and I absolutely refused to wear the grandma jeans…you know the ones with the elastic waist and no pockets. NEVER! Jeans fit differently than khaki pants so that was what I mainly wore. Now, going into the store and hitting the slim section feels AMAZING! I’ve mentioned it before, but going into the store and being able to shop off of the rack, and to have plenty of options is one of the best feelings in the world. Especially for a clothes whore like myself. Many don’t know the feeling of going from store to store and not finding something you actually like, not finding it in your size, but also big people’s clothes can be ugly. I’m more androgynous so I shop in both the women’s and men’s sections of the store. Most of the clothes look so homely. Not only the looks can be questionable, but also more expensive. Like it really costs an extra $5-$10 for a few more inches of fabric. I’m also cheap! So I will shop in the clearance section in a minute. I will also hit up a thrift store weekly. The clearance section, thrift store and consignment shops don’t have many options for the big folks. Shopping online is a gamble as well. Sixty-five percent of the time it will never look like it does online. So now you can see why it’s such a big deal to have bought an item of clothing that I haven’t owned in years. This is just another stop on my journey that is complete. It’s a small feat…but huge all in the same way.
